This was one of the worst medical experiences of my life. I came to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Chicago on Archer Ave. in excruciating pain and was charged $295 for a consultation with Dr. Jamie S. Luria. Despite the fee, he never once examined my mouth—he simply reviewed the X-rays and gave a brief explanation. I trusted his expertise and returned the next day for scheduled extractions, which turned into a nightmare. I was supposed to receive IV sedation, but Dr. Luria and his assistant attempted to insert the IV a total of 10 times (Dr. Luria himself tried 8 times). Not only was this physically painful, but Dr. Luria was extremely rude and dismissive throughout the process. His tone and attitude were so harsh that I ultimately chose to leave—even after paying $2,145 in advance. While Lauren at the front desk was kind and empathetic, the overall treatment I received was unacceptable. I called for a full refund and was only refunded for the extractions—not the $295 consult, even though no physical exam was performed. I will never return and strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere.
