TLDR: They were great before the surgery, but after my surgery, it seemed like they didn't care much for me. I didn't receive the assurance that everything was fine with the procedure, and when I called their emergency hotline once my stitches prematurely came loose, no one answered. I was left in the dark, playing phone tag for days. Long version: I went to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Chicago for extraction of two impacted wisdom teeth on my left side. I appreciated the initial consultation that I had with the office before the extraction. Staff were friendly, they answered all of my initial questions about the procedure, and gave me a detailed breakdown of the costs. Initial impression and accommodations would have gotten 4 stars. However, directly after the surgery and during my follow-up visit, I didn't not appreciate how the staff and surgeon interacted with me. They were breif and no longer thoroughly attentive. Upon waking from anesthesia, I requested assurance that everything about my procedure went successfully according to plan, but my concerns and questions were dismissed by the staff. I received little-to-no positive reassurance. I didn't even see the surgeon until my follow-up visit one week afterwards. Later than night, my stitches were somehow detangles loose as i was changing my gauze. I was scared that this would be a problem. I called the office's emergency hotline (made for concerns like this), but none of the on-call doctors answered the phone. I called all four of them several times and left several messages. We just played phone tag for days afterwards. My follow-up visit was less than 10 mins. While They told me that I appeared to be healing fine, they left other questions unanswered. I shared with the staff and surgeon how, when my stitches came loose, no one answered the emergency line. They had no explanation for why they prematurely came loose, whether this should be a significant concern, and no explanation for why their emergency line was ineffective. I also asked about additional risk factors regarding the relationship between dental health and heart health, but the surgeon refused to discuss those risk factors with me. He told me to discuss it with another dentist and walked out the room abruptly while the staff told me to go home. Unacceptable. I was in the office for not even 10 mins. Never going to this practice again.

My experience with Dr. Jamie Luria and his team was exceptional from start to finish. From the beginning, Lauren got me in quickly and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns, which really put me at ease. Dr. Luria was professional and thoughtful. I had been stressed about not being under sedation, but thanks to their experience, the entire procedure was smooth and quick. I truly appreciate how attentive and caring they all were.
